Volume 3, Side Story 13: Happy End Route Disappearance

"You finally lost the last route, too."

In a particular train station that was full of numerous people were passing by, four people were confronting each other.

One guy shouted, and another guy bore the full brunt of it.

A girl glared at that guy who shouted with a look of disgust on her face, and another girl looked fed up with him.

From the side, it looked like a competition for these girls, some kind of love affair.

But the result was obvious. The game had been already won, and the air around the two girls could tell the whole story.

"T-the last route? What the hell are you saying..."

"You should understand what that means if you've come this far, shouldn’t you? Whatever it was you lost."

At Jimichi Ikuto's words, Tendou Susumu’s gaze fell on the two girls. It seemed like he recognized what he lost.

The attitude that Azumi Reika and Hareyama Hanae showed were completely hostile.

It was hard to believe that a path with these two girls, who emanated such an atmosphere, existed.

"Your route with these two who had always been by your side."

"..."

"You failed to notice them. Instead, you made the wrong choices and cut them off."

"...Shut up."

"Give it up anymore. Your road, Susumu, has already been ――"

"―― Shut up!!"

Jimichi spoke as calmly and expressionless as before. Tendou, had a vicious expression on his face and was full of anger.

Although Jimichi's voice was drowned out by the other's frustrated yell, there wasn't any indication that he felt upset about the matter.

Jimichi grabbed Hareyama's arm a short distance away and pulled her closer. That act seemed like he was protecting her from gazes that started to gather around them.

"What do you mean disappeared! What do you mean lost! You're the one who separated them away from me!"

"..."

"If it weren't for you, they would have still been by my side! Even if I failed in a lot of ways, they shouldn't have left!"

"..."

"You...you're the one to blame...you…"

Did he forget that they were still at a station where a lot of eyes were present?

He simply let out his anger without any regard to his surroundings, nor to the girls who were brought under those stares.

In the midst of all this, Jimichi acted as if to shield the girls as much as possible.

A guy who didn't think about them at all, and another who put them as their priority.

In the eyes of those two girls, there was only Jimichi. The best Tendou could ever do was say nothing else more than he had to.

"...I keep telling you, it's all the result of your choices."

"...Like I said! How come you always come up in my choices, then?!"

"...By chance?"

"Y-you're joking with me...!"

Jimichi's blank expression stroked Tendou's emotions in the opposite direction. He exploded again, and he glared at Jimichi with eyes filled with hatred.

As a result of trying to justify himself, he vented it all out on Jimichi, not paying attention to anything else.

He forgot to take into account the two people who were getting uncomfortable beside Jimichi, and he failed to reflect on his own behavior.

To sum it up, he didn't even know what he wanted to do.

"Hey, let's go. I don't want to be around him anymore."

"...Yeah. I would like to leave, too..."

Finally, the two by his side spoke out clearly.

Tendou, upset from their rejection, hurriedly shifted his attention back to Jimichi.

And so began his final, pointless struggle.

"Why...aren't you two just being deceived?! He just approached you because he was trying to make me suffer!"

"...What are even talking about? Stop saying weird things."

"It doesn't matter. He's the one who helped me, and so I only want to be around him."

Useless resistance was still useless, and it was all in vain.

His words didn't reach them, and the fact that he even said them in the first place worsened their image of him.

Tendou, who was rendered speechless by the attitudes and expressions from the two, was at a loss for words, and his face was tinged with the color of despair.

"That's how it is, Tendou."

"...Damn it."

"I don't think we'll be getting involved anymore, so just stop here, okay?"

"...Shut up."

"If you go any further...you'll end up on that route."

"..."

It seemed that although he was on his way to that path, he still hadn't reached the end yet.

He had to choose where to after this.

He couldn't go back to those broken routes, but he still had a choice.

Seeing that Tendou was silent, Jimichi turned around and moved his feet towards the ticket gate.

He didn't call out to the girls, but the two followed Jimichi, as if it was only natural.

The two girls disappeared behind the ticket gate without ever looking back, with expressions on their faces completely different than what they directed to Tendou earlier.

"S-so? What was all that?"

"Somehow, I didn't really understand what you just talked about?"

"Really? Reika and Hanae are mine, so I just told him to give up now."

""Y-yours only...""

Tendou could only watch the three of them in silence.

He was left alone. His current state was heaven and earth compared to Jimichi.

But even then, someone tried to approach him.

A strange businessman called out while placing his hand on his shoulder.

"Well, how should I say this ―― don't mind it, kid."

It was unknown whether that kindness had reached him.

I'm finally at this point.

Haa...it was difficult, everything was difficult.

I knew he had some immaturity in him, but that was too much of a change.

Things got hard because his current character and relationship with his girlfriends were all too different.

Although to be honest, I wasn't even interested in individual routes, that's why I only do harems.

...Rather, wasn't it too late to get emotionally attached to him now?

Because while I was able to observe him, I hadn't really at the same time, you know?

As far as I am concerned, he just got cuckolded.

I don't know what is happening behind the scenes, but you have to show me that to get me to relate to him.

Really, this development...what was that guy even thinking?

Well, for the time being, I'll go finish it. It seems that bug that prevented me from progressing has been fixed.

    1. I thought so too but if you read it carefully it sound more like a gamer playing a broken game, seeing as he said "bug".

  3. Wao, so he is not totally ruined yet. I remember the beginning, but I still can't believe that he is this twisted. Can't he use his brain for something other than thinking selfish things? And I really want to know who is the one talking at the end of the chapter. After all, I want to smack some sense on that person. Cuckold? B*llsh*t! There weren't on a relationship, that guy didn't cherish his relationship on friendship state, so none of the 4 girls could develop feelings that are truly beyond friendship. So it is absolutely incorrect to call this cuckoldry. I don't know who he is, but must not mess up with Ikuto.

    1. This would be a cuck story from players perspective since he still has memories of routes he played earlier. Specifically the harem route

  4. On that note you understand that there is someone testing the game, so it explains why all the bad choices, but does it imply that Jimichi is not acting because he wants to? but how far is it programmed?

  5. Jimichi is a real one, even while being the antagonist he went to the trouble to try and redirect the player towards the good route(not that it was effective)
